This is a brief tutorial on how to access your Bitmain Antminer on your home network to access your miner settings to start mining. This process may also work with other Bitcoin & cryptocurrency mining hardware.
Step 1:
Power up and connect your miner via Ethernet to your home network.
Step 2:
To access the miner you must first find the IP address that your router has generally auto-assigned to it. There are numerous ways to find this IP address but here I will discuss 2 methods for finding this…
Option A:
Download an app on your phone such as “Fing Network Scanner” or any similar app that allows you to scan for new IP addresses on your home network.
Option B:
Access your router by going into your browser typing 192.168.1.254
Note: 192.168.1.254 is a common method however this can vary by network and by the router manufacturer. Sometimes this may be labeled on your router.
When you access the devices on your network you will be looking for the most recent device. Sometimes the miner address may be labeled as Antminer or Unknown. You may have to try several IP addresses depending on how many devices are on your network. (For this example the miner will be 192.168.1.249)
Step 3:
After you have successfully found the IP address simply type it into your browser. (For this example the miner will be 192.168.1.249) You will then be prompted to enter login info. By default the Antminer username is root and the password is root. If you have changed this in the settings and forgot it or purchased a used miner then you may have to reset the miner by the reset button on the front panel of the unit. You will then be able to access your miner settings.
